DURING A SEIZURE
✓ STAY CALM — check the time, measure the duration

✓ MAKE IT SAFE — move hard/sharp objects away, protect the head

✓ TURN ON THE SIDE — turn to the side to keep the mouth and nose clear
✓ STAY WITH THEM — speak in a calm voice, wait until the seizure passes
✗ DO NOT PUT ANYTHING IN THE MOUTH · ✗ DO NOT HOLD DOWN/RESTRAIN · ✗ DO NOT GIVE WATER-FOOD-MEDICATION

CALL EMERGENCY SERVICES: if it lasts more than 5 minutes · repeated seizures · breathing problem · seizure in water · serious injury · first seizure · if it continues despite rescue medication
